The newspaper reports on research into double standards for COVID-19 vaccinations and how this affects opinions and expectations regarding cancellations. About two years ago, there were discussions about compulsory vaccination in Germany and the question arose as to what extent vaccination can be understood as a social norm and how this affects the labour market. It was also a question of double standards, i.e. whether refusal to vaccinate puts women, older people and people with a migration background, who are often disadvantaged anyway, at a particular disadvantage. One result of the study is that, according to the majority of respondents, people who do not want to be vaccinated can expect sanctions in the form of dismissal at work. In addition, the risk of these people being made redundant was estimated to be significantly higher. This was particularly true for respondents who had not been vaccinated. [LINK]
